Light up a Life 2010 Has Come to an End!

Another holiday season has passed and the twinkling of lights on Butler Pike, in Ambler, has unfortunately ended.  As families were taking down their trees and packing up their stockings, the lights in Ambler were being safely packed away for yet another year.

This year was our most spectacular year to date!  A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to stop by the property and walk around.  The smiles on the children’s faces, along with their cheerful cries of joy, as their eyes focused on each and every animated piece, were priceless.  Spreading holiday cheer is what the light show is all about, and the tens of thousands who visited this year really paid it forward!  The donations given, in these tough economic times were amazing, and eclipsed last year’s by over $2,500.00. We raised a total $5,572 which will be given to the Upper Dublin Police Benevolent Association.  The UDPBA will use that donation to help support active and retired members and their families in times of need and distress.  So thank you, again, for all your support!

Other fun facts about our 2010 Holiday Light Show:

• Santa visited 5 times….and gave out over 2000 High Fives for Candy Canes!
• 1775 Cups of Hot Chocolate were given out!
• There were 144,377 total lights this year
• Closest guess was 146,046 made by Caryl Frank, of Wydmoor, who won the $500 Prize!
• Weather shut us down only  3 times before Christmas and 3 times afterwards
• We had to replace several hundred Light Bulbs
