The EdgeConnect 2402 POE Switch provides wire-speed switching for up to 12 ports with a maximum power of 14.4 watts, or 24 ports with a maximum power of 7.5 watts. Power can be transferred over existing CAT 5 cables to as far as 330 feet.
POE eliminates the need for individual power bricks. That means all the VoIP phones can be powered from the POE switch, safely tucked away in the data closet. It’s easier to put one UPS on the data switch, than at every work station.
