NEC Intelligent Gateway for Microsoft Lync/OCS opens the door to alternative voice solutions.

The UM8700 Intelligent Gateway is a way to offer more software or add third party gateways to an existing system. Some of the options of the Lync client include: Softphone use coupled with existing Instant Messaging and Presence options, route incoming calls to a users OCS/Lync client, allow outbound calls to route from OCS/LYnc to the PSTN.

What’s more, users can reset their own security passwords on voice mailboxes without the need for an administrator.

Multi-PBX vendor environments are message enhanced with the UM8700 because it works across Avaya Communications Manager/Session Manager SIP integrations.

UM8700 also offers complete and limitless support on Windows Server 2008 R2 configurations with updated Mitel MiTAI and Aculab drivers with 64-bit (x64) support.

The UM8700 Mobile application is available as a native Android Client after January 6, 2012.

The native iPhone client options will follow. UM8700 software can be downloaded and requires Version 8.2 (or higher) a Unified Messaging (UM) License and a Personal Assistant (PA) License for each user client.
